Wily Trout Wines - Canberra Wine Region
Located in the Canberra Wine Region, the Wily Trout Vineyard was planted in the late 90s on the hills surrounding the Poachers Pantry property.
Our white grape varieties, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc were planted on the granite hills that rise to 800m. The cooler climate produces grapes that make delicate yet complex white wines.
Our red grape varieties, Pinot Noir and Shiraz are situated on the north east facing granite hills that rise to 725 metres - perfect for catching the morning sun and for allowing the cool air to drain down the Nanima valley. This unique location produces grapes that are turned into stunning red wines - soft spicy Shiraz and delicate Pinot Noir.
Second generation grower William Bruce teamed with experienced wine makers, Nick Spencer and Hamish Young, produce elegant cool-climate Canberra district wines.
Taste our wines at our cellar door matched with Poachers Pantry smoked goods, daily from 9:30am to 5:00pm.
