An intensely perfumed wine. Lively violets and bright red fruit with crushed spice and black pepper and a savoury palate of liquorice, pepper and spicy oak.
The fruit was handpicked and fermented using 2 tonne open top fermenters. 30% whole bunch was incorporated and plunged twice daily. The wine was matured in 15% new French oak.
The winter leading up to this vintage was extraordinarily wet, 1050mm of rain was recorded on the property, well above our 750mm yearly average. Spring kicked off with vigour, resulting in ideal conditions for flowering and fruit set. Summer was mild to warm with no significant heatwaves - perfect for ripening fruit.
